SI Series Full Servo Flow Wrapping Features

1. Advanced Servo-Control Technology
The series is defined by a Full Servo-Control System that eliminates the need for independent controllers. Key technological features include:
Shaftless Driving: Each shaft is independently controlled by servo motors with gear reducers, removing mechanical joints for smoother, quieter operation.
Auto-shift Cutter: The system automatically generates speed curves for the cutter, eliminating the need for manual mechanical cam adjustments.
Intelligent HMI: A user-friendly touch screen allows for quick parameter settings and features a memory function to easily reload settings for different products.
2. Specialized "On-Edge" Application
This product line is specifically engineered for packing regular and trayless products on edge. Typical applications include:
Bakery items: Biscuits, crackers, cookies, cake rusks, and dry bread.
Snacks: Potato chips and various confectionery bars.
Customization: The machines can be tailored with different in-feed conveyors (L-shape, chain, or belt) to match specific product handling needs.
3. Smart Operational Functions
The SI series integrates several "smart" features to reduce waste and protect the machine:
Packless Function: Prevents the creation of empty bags by ensuring a package is only formed when a product is detected in the feed.
Cutless Function: Automatically stops the cutter if a product is misaligned or out of position, preventing damage to both the product and the machine.
Automatic Film Splicer: Enables changing film rolls without stopping production, which significantly reduces downtime and labor.
Cutter Torque Protection: Detects excessive resistance (such as a hard product being cut incorrectly) and automatically stops and reverses the cutter.
4. High Performance and Precision
Despite their compact design, these machines offer high-industrial performance:
Speed: They can achieve packing speeds up to 200 bags per minute (with double jaws) and line speeds up to 50m/min.
Accuracy: They feature high-precision color mark tracking with an accuracy of up to 0.1mm.
Bagging Flexibility: They accommodate a wide bagging size range, with lengths typically adjustable between 125mm and 400mm.
5. Hygienic and Compact Design
The SI series is built with a sanitary machine design for easy cleaning. They feature a small footprint, making them suitable for facilities with limited space, and are designed for easy integration with Soontrue’s automatic feeding systems and other upstream/downstream equipment.

SI-150 Machine Standard features

1. Sanitary Engineering for Effortless Cleanup: The machine's compact layout and simplified body design enable quick sanitation of critical areas like the in-feed conveyor and sealing assemblies.
2.Synchronized Shaftless Motion Architecture: The full servo-control system integrates motors and drivers with an intelligent HMI to remove the need for an independent controller, while independent shafts and an auto-shift cutter eliminate mechanical joints and manual cam adjustments to reduce wear.
3.Smart Efficiency and Protective Safeguards: Automated "Packless" and "Cutless" logic prevents empty bags and product damage, while an automatic film splicer and cutter torque protection—adjustable via the touch screen—ensure continuous, secure operation.
4.Micro-Precision Tracking with Memory-Driven Setup: Advanced sensors maintain 0.1mm tracking accuracy across a flexible bagging range (typically 125mm to 400mm), utilizing an HMI memory function for instant parameter reloading during product changes.
5.Interconnected High-Speed Automation: The system is built for seamless integration with upstream automatic feeding lines and downstream equipment, capable of achieving peak outputs of 200 bags per minute.

Maintenance and inspection

1. Routine Care (Daily or Per Shift)
Cleaning After Runs: The machine must be cleaned thoroughly after each packaging session to prevent material buildup.
Safety First: Always power off the equipment and wait for heating components to cool before cleaning. Never spray water or steam directly onto the machine.
Targeted Cleaning Areas:
In-feed Conveyor: Use compressed air to remove small product fragments and debris.
Cutter Surface: Use a wire brush treated with silicone oil to remove adhered film residue.
External Surfaces: Wipe the control panel, safety covers, and operating surfaces with a soft cloth.
Conductive Rings: Clean the conductive rings on sealing tools weekly or bi-weekly using the back of sandpaper while the power is disconnected.
2. Periodic Maintenance (Monthly)
Lubrication: Apply lubricating grease to the end sealer bearings and the gears, chains, and pulleys of the driving unit.
Mechanical Tension: Inspect the tightness of all chains and belts within the driving unit, adjusting any that have become loose.
Fastener Inspection: Check and tighten all screws and nuts to ensure the machine remains robust during high-speed operation.
3. Comprehensive Inspection (Every 6 Months)
Wear Analysis: Examine driving belts and rubber rollers for wear; replace any components that negatively impact film advancing or performance.
System Adjustments: Calibrate the brake unit on the film-carrying roller to maintain proper tension.

Electrical Maintenance:
Ensure all wiring terminals are securely fastened.
Remove dust and dirt from the inverter, PLC, and circuit boards using compressed air to prevent electrical interference or overheating.

FAQ

Q1: We pack biscuits and crackers without trays; will they stay upright during high-speed packaging?

Answer: Yes. The SI-150 series is specifically engineered for on-edge, trayless packaging. It uses specialized horizontal flow wrapping technology and often features an L-shape conveyor to ensure products remain stable and neat throughout the process.

Q2: My current wrapper creates too many empty bags when the product feed is inconsistent. How does this machine handle gaps?

Answer: The SI-150 features an intelligent "Packless" function. If the sensor detects a gap in the product feed, the machine stops forming bags until a product is detected again, significantly reducing film material waste.

Q3: Is it difficult for a new operator to switch between different product sizes?

Answer: Not at all. The machine uses a full servo-control system with an intelligent HMI that includes a memory function. Operators can simply reload saved parameters for different products, and the auto-shift cutter automatically generates the correct speed curves without requiring manual mechanical adjustments.

Q4: What happens if a product gets stuck or is misaligned under the cutter?

Answer: The machine is equipped with two protective features: the "Cutless" function automatically stops the cutter if it detects a mispositioned product, and Cutter Torque Protection instantly stops and reverses the cutter if it hits an obstruction, preventing damage to the machine and the product.

Q5: How can I trust the machine's quality if I am ordering internationally for the first time?

Answer: Soontrue has nearly 30 years of experience and offers several ways to build trust, including video factory tours, detailed case studies, and factory acceptance tests via live video or with your local partners before the machine is shipped.
